Role Description:
The QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, performing manual and software testing, and ensuring the quality and functionality of systems and applications. Key duties include identifying defects, reporting issues, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Requirements:
- Take documented requirements and define a QA/testing approach.
- Create, maintain, and execute test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
- Log, track, and report defects (found/fixed/reopened) to the QA lead.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to QA processes and standards.
- Work in Agile/Scrum environments and follow QA best practices.
- Utilize QA tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Selenium, or similar.
- Apply automation testing experience where applicable.
- Align QA activities with business and technical requirements.
Preferred skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Hands-on experience with Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Experience with automation testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or TestNG
- Exposure to API testing tools like Postman, REST-assured, or SoapUI
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git) for automated deployments
- Knowledge of automation scripting in Python, Java, or similar languages
- Experience with performance/load testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for testing environments
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and DevOps practices
- Ability to write, maintain, and optimize test scripts for automation
