Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled
QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in
Cypress test automation to develop robust UI and API testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will combine strong automation capabilities with manual testing expertise and CI/CD integration experience. This role involves building scalable automated test suites, improving test coverage, and collaborating closely with development and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities Automation Testing (Cypress)
- Develop and maintain end-to-end UI automation test suites using Cypress
- Implement API automation testing using Cypress (cy.request) with assertions via Mocha and Chai
- Implement data mocking and intercepting strategies using cy.intercept to test edge cases without relying on unstable backend systems
- Optimize test execution using Cypress parallelization to reduce build and execution times
Manual Testing & Test Management
- Create and maintain detailed manual test cases in Xray (Jira) with clear steps and expected results
- Manage test execution cycles and maintain accurate test results in Jira for traceability
- Ensure manual and automated test coverage across application features
CI/CD & DevOps Integration
- Configure and manage Jenkins jobs for automated test execution
- Integrate Cypress UI and API test suites into CI/CD pipelines
- Configure and maintain test reporting tools such as Mochawesome, Allure, or JUnit
- Ensure test failures are detected early in the deployment pipeline
Collaboration & Quality Ownership
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality standards
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies
- Take ownership of projects from technical design through successful delivery
- Maintain high-quality documentation and test artifacts
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Advanced experience with Cypress automation framework
- Strong knowledge of UI testing and API testing using Cypress
- Experience implementing data mocking and intercepting strategies (cy.intercept)
- Hands-on experience with Mocha and Chai assertions
- Experience with Cypress parallelization for optimized test execution
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins
- Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript for test automation
- Strong experience with SQL and database validation for backend testing
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Xray test management tools
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced test reporting frameworks (Mochawesome, Allure)
- Experience in test data management and backend validation
- Exposure to DevOps workflows and pipeline scripting
- Experience working in fast-paced Agile product development environments
