QA Automation Engineer – Contract
Location: Chennai, India (Work from Office Only)
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic Quality Assurance team in Chennai. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term engagement. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions through robust automation strategies.
Position Summary
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be part of a team driving automation initiatives. You will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts, build scalable automation frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve comprehensive test coverage. This role requires strong coding skills and a deep understanding of automation best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Develop and maintain a scalable and efficient automation framework.
- Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and DevOps teams to define test strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Implement and adhere to best practices for test automation.
- Identify and mitigate bottlenecks, risks, and issues in the automation process.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new automation tools and technologies.
- Align testing activities with project timelines and quality standards.
- Integrate and drive automated testing within the CI/CD pipeline.
- Monitor test results, analyze defects, and provide detailed reports to the QA Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in QA automation.
- Strong proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar.
- Expertise in scripting languages (Python, Java, JavaScript) for test automation.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Git, or equivalent).
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms and environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and REST Assured.
