Position: QA Automation Engineer
Location: Pune
The American Chemical Society International India (ACS-I India) is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to support world-class publishing operations. ACS Publications is established as the home of the most-trusted, most-cited, and most-read journals in chemistry-related sciences. This position will be a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer for Application development within the Publications Division. The candidate should have experience in Application Development, Analytics and Relational Databases. This role will be in support of our application development teams that includes multiple web-based applications and integrations with multiple systems. This position requires the ability to work independently and take initiative while working effectively as a member of a project team.

Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated UI and API Tests with an emphasis on the user experience
- Desing and develop automated verification for database
- Develop test plans and automations for application including cases and test design
- Manage test platform development
- Monitor daily test jobs for execution
- Coordinate with onsite ACS lead and provide updates
- Take ownership and responsibility for the design and development of all aspects of testing
- Create high level plan, designs in conjunction with developers and business users
- Collaborate with developers and business users to verify defects
- Identifying data quality gaps and writing checks to facilitate validation of the gap
- Gather, document key findings and communicate with developers and business users
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship around testing, automation, and frameworks.
- Create and maintain data scenarios to support test plans and test cases
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in a QA Automation with a focus on user experience testing
- Strong experience with automated testing platforms such as Playwright, Selenium and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) such as Cucumber
- Strong experience with JavaScript or Python and set up of new projects minimum 4-5 years
- Atlassian suite of tools including JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr
- Proficient with REST APIs and testing for consistency and performance
- Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Angular, React, Vue
- Experience with web debugging tools
- Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Strong analytical skills, inquisitive nature and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal communication, documentation & strong organizational skills.
- Cloud technology experience is a plus
- Experience with SAFe Agile and other software development methodologies is helpful
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
- Experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks
- Solid understanding of Non-Functional Testing concepts
- Hands-on experience with k6 and/or JMeter
- Experience with AI-driven testing tools or frameworks
- Knowledge of REST API testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Testing experience in cloud-based or microservices architectures
