Quality Analyst – Alt Text (Engineering & Life Sciences)

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Analyst (QA) – Alt Text to review and ensure the accuracy and quality of image descriptions created for accessibility projects. This role requires a strong understanding of Engineering and Life Sciences concepts, along with the ability to validate technically complex visuals such as diagrams, graphs, charts, and scientific illustrations.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that content is accessible, accurate, and compliant with global accessibility standards, enabling an inclusive experience for visually impaired users.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality checks (QA) on alt text descriptions for a wide range of visuals including:
• Technical diagrams (Engineering)
• Scientific illustrations (Life Sciences)
• Graphs, charts, tables, and flowcharts
• Ensure descriptions are: Accurate, concise, and contextually relevant
• Validate technical correctness of content based on subject knowledge
• Review structure, grammar, and clarity of descriptions
• Identify gaps and provide constructive feedback to writers
• Maintain consistency in terminology, tone, and formatting standards
• Work closely with writers, SMEs, and project managers to improve output quality
• Track and report quality metrics, error patterns, and improvements
• Ensure timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong academic background or understanding of:

Engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc.)

Life Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, etc.)

• Experience in: Alt text writing / review / Quality Analysis / Proofreading / Content Review
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Ability to interpret and describe complex technical visuals
• Proficiency in tools like MS Word, Excel, & PPT

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering or Life Sciences
• Ability to handle high-volume projects with consistency
