Teamware Solutions is seeking a proficient Python / Unix-Linux Automation Engineer to build and maintain robust automated solutions across our digital infrastructure. This role involves working with relevant technologies to ensure smooth operations, enhance efficiency, and contribute significantly to business objectives through the analysis, development, implementation, and troubleshooting within the Python, Unix/Linux environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Scripting and Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and tools primarily using Python to streamline operational tasks, deployments, and system configurations.
- Unix/Linux System Operations: Work extensively with Unix/Linux operating systems, performing daily administration tasks, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Command-Line Proficiency: Utilize Linux commands and shell scripting (Bash) effectively for system management, file manipulation, process control, and automation.
- Analysis and Troubleshooting: Analyze system and application logs to identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions within the Unix/Linux and Python environments.
- Development and Implementation: Participate in the full software development lifecycle for automation solutions, from understanding requirements to deployment and ongoing support.
- System Integration: Integrate Python scripts and automation tools with existing IT systems, monitoring platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to optimize scripts and system configurations for better efficiency and resource utilization.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear, concise documentation for scripts, automation processes, and system configurations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and other IT teams to understand their needs and provide reliable automation solutions.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Python Programming: Strong programming skills in Python, including familiarity with standard libraries and frameworks commonly used for automation and system interaction.
- Unix/Linux Administration: Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS), including core concepts, file systems, user management, and process management.
- Command Line & Scripting: Expert-level proficiency with Linux commands and strong ability in shell scripting (Bash).
- Automation Concepts: Good understanding of automation principles and best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues across systems.
- Networking Basics: Fundamental understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH).
- Version Control (Plus): Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
