Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Python Engineer role based in Gurugram. The Python Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services, data pipelines, and automation scripts that support EXL's analytics and digital operations solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient Python code, integrating with APIs and databases, optimizing performance, and participating in code reviews and testing. The role involves collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to productionize models, build reusable components, and ensure reliability and scalability of deployed solutions. The Python Engineer will also contribute to documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of engineering practices and tools.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Python programming skills, including experience with core libraries and best practices for clean, maintainable code.
- Candidates should possess skills in backend and data engineering, such as working with REST APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, and building data pipelines or ETL workflows.
- Candidates should possess experience in software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, debugging, and CI/CD workflows.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with analytics or machine learning integration, working with data science teams to deploy models and handle data at scale.
- Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to collaborate in cross-functional, on-site teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Experience in digital operations, financial services, healthcare, or other data-intensive industries, as well as exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), is beneficial.
