Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Django Developer / Consultant to contribute to the development, optimization, and maintenance of scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Python and Django frameworks, strong problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in workflow optimization, backend architecture, REST API development, and database performance tuning.
The role requires close collaboration with client teams to enhance application efficiency, improve development workflows, and establish best engineering practices across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Technical Consultation
- Provide expert-level guidance in Python and Django development with 7–15 years of hands-on experience.
- Collaborate with the client team to design, develop, and implement Django-based backend services.
- Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.
- Advise teams on best practices related to:
- State management
- Event handling
- Data modelling
- Backend architecture
- Integrate multiple data sources and external systems.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Develop and optimize automation workflows and Python-based utilities.
Workflow Optimization
- Analyze and improve existing Django application development workflows.
- Implement engineering best practices to improve productivity, maintainability, and scalability.
- Optimize:
- Database queries
- Transaction management
- ORM performance
- ETL processes
- Improve system reliability, response times, and overall application performance.
Code Review & Quality Enhancement
- Conduct detailed code reviews for Django applications and backend services.
- Identify bottlenecks, scalability concerns, and areas of technical debt.
- Implement enhancements to improve:
- Code quality
- Performance
- Maintainability
- Scalability
- Mentor and guide development teams through review sessions and technical discussions.
- Establish coding standards and best practices documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8–15 years of experience in Python development with strong expertise in Django.
- Strong experience with:
- Django Framework
- Django REST Framework (DRF)
- REST API development
- PostgreSQL/MySQL
- ORM optimization
- Python automation and ETL processes
- Strong understanding of backend architecture and scalable application design.
- Experience in performance optimization and debugging complex applications.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, clean code principles, and design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and client teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.
- Experience with frontend technologies and data visualization tools is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in consulting or client-facing technical roles preferred.
