Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to join our team and drive network automation initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing Python-based solutions for network orchestration and management. This role demands a strong background in networking, with hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Juniper equipment. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to automate network operations and integrate Python-based solutions into existing systems, ensuring efficient and secure network operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain Python scripts for network automation and orchestration, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Design and implement APIs or tools for network monitoring and management, enhancing visibility and control.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain networking equipment from Cisco and Juniper, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform network performance analysis and optimization, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
- Provide technical support for network-related issues and outages, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Design and implement network architectures based on business needs, considering scalability, security, and performance.
- Automate network operations using Python, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring, to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Python-based solutions, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for scripts, configurations, and network designs, ensuring knowledge transfer and easy maintenance.
- Generate reports on network performance, health, and capacity planning, providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Python programming, especially for network automation and scripting, with a strong understanding of Python's capabilities.
- Mandatory Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE) and/or Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIP, or JNCIE), demonstrating expertise in networking technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VLANs, along with network security concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment, ensuring a deep understanding of their functionalities and best practices.
- Familiarity with network automation tools such as Ansible, Netmiko, or NAPALM, enabling efficient and automated network management.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments for scripting and networking tasks, ensuring a solid foundation for Python development and network operations.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is preferred, as it enhances the ability to manage and automate cloud-based network resources.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies and network virtualization is advantageous, as it aligns with modern networking trends and requirements.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial, promoting efficient collaboration and automation in software development.
- Experience with REST APIs and JSON/YAML for network integrations is desirable, enabling seamless communication between network components.
