Python Developer - Lead

Total Experience Required: 6 to 9 Years

Primary Skills & Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Python with Django. 

• Build and optimize RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF). 

• Strong understanding of API authentication/authorization, serialization, pagination, and error handling. 

• Write efficient, secure, and maintainable backend code following best practices and coding standards. 

• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) including schema design and performance tuning. 

• Write complex SQL queries, troubleshoot slow queries, and ensure data integrity. 

• Use Git effectively for branching strategies, code collaboration, and release management. 

• Deliver features in an Agile environment with iterative development, estimation, and continuous improvement. 

 Secondary Skills: 

• Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD basics, deployments, monitoring). 

• Understanding of Kubernetes concepts and containerized deployments. 

• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation and contract-first design. 

• Exposure to Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing practices. 

• Contribution to open-source projects or community libraries. 

• Experience working in a product-based company environment. 

• Working knowledge of Scrum ceremonies and agile development methodologies 

 Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of robust and scalable Python/Django web applications. 

• Translate product requirements into well-structured technical solutions and production-ready code. 

• Implement and enhance RESTful APIs; integrate with front-end components and third-party services. 

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues; ensure high availability and reliability. 

• Drive performance and scalability improvements through profiling, optimization, and architectural enhancements. 

• Ensure code quality and maintainability by enforcing best practices, standards, and consistent patterns. 

• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to raise team capability. 

• Maintain and update technical documentation, design notes, and API specifications.
