About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to join a high-performance Data Engineering team responsible for building and maintaining large-scale data platforms serving global users and business functions. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with quantitative researchers, traders, and technology teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient data solutions.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of resilient ingestion pipelines, scalable data transformation frameworks, and high-quality internal tools that support research and alpha generation workflows. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data processing frameworks.
- Build and maintain reliable ingestion systems for large and complex datasets.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers and cross-functional technology teams to onboard and manage new datasets.
- Improve existing frameworks, abstractions, and internal tooling to enhance scalability, maintainability, and development efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in operational support during regular business hours.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and system reliability.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making across the data platform.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in Python development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another STEM-related field.
- Strong understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS platforms.
- Hands-on experience with data transfer tools and protocols including FTP, SFTP, HTTP APIs, and AWS S3.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable, and production-grade code.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, or big data technologies.
- Exposure to data engineering frameworks and scalable infrastructure.
- Familiarity with technologies such as C++, Rust, or kdb+/q is an advantage.
- Understanding of financial markets, quantitative systems, or data-intensive environments is a plus.
