Python Developer

bout the Role

We are looking for hands-on Python Production Engineers who can own production issues while continuing to contribute to engineering, automation and system improvements.

This is not a pure support role. The ideal candidate should be comfortable debugging complex issues across application, data and infrastructure layers, identifying root causes and building engineering solutions that improve system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, debug and maintain production-grade Python applications and services.
• Investigate and resolve production failures across application, database, data and infrastructure layers.
• Analyse logs, APIs, databases, queues and system behaviour to identify root causes.
• Own incidents through diagnosis, resolution and appropriate follow-up.
• Build scripts, tools and automation to reduce repetitive operational work.
• Identify recurring production issues and implement permanent engineering fixes.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, Data and Infrastructure teams.
• Participate in a shift-based production environment and support business-critical systems.
• Balance production support responsibilities with regular development and engineering work.

What We're Looking For

• 3–6 years of relevant software engineering / production engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on programming skills in Python.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
• Practical experience working with SQL/databases, APIs, logs and queues/messaging systems.
• Experience troubleshooting live or production systems.
• Ability to investigate problems across multiple technical layers rather than working only at application level.
• Comfortable working in shifts and taking ownership of production incidents.
• Strong engineering mindset with an interest in automation, reliability and continuous improvement.

Ideal Profile

Someone who combines the mindset of a Python Engineer + Production/SRE Engineer — capable of fixing an immediate production issue, identifying why it happened, and engineering a solution so that it does not keep recurring.
