Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong expertise in FastAPI and/or Django, and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on backend development experience. In this role, you will work closely with our engineering and delivery teams based in Dubai and Riyadh, contributing to scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices that power high-impact products for regional and global customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using FastAPI or Django.
- Develop scalable, secure, and high-performing backend components and microservices.
- Integrate with databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL) and external services.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, DevOps, QA, and our Dubai & Riyadh delivery teams.
- Participate in design discussions, sprint planning, and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize queries, and improve API efficiency.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments (AWS preferred).
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Python backend development.
- Strong experience with FastAPI and/or Django frameworks.
- Solid understanding of ORMs, relational databases, and REST design principles.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, Celery, or message queues.
- Familiarity with Docker, containers, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT).
- Ability to write unit tests and follow clean coding practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good to have
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of GraphQL, WebSockets, or async programming.
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
