About the Role:
We're looking for a Backend developer with a strong backend focus (35 years of experience) who thrives on building scalable systems, loves clean architecture, and embraces the power of AI assisted development.You'll lead the design and development of robust RESTful and gRPC services, work on performance-critical backend components, and step into the frontend especially with JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue to deliver end-to-end features.If you're passionate about systems and enjoy the flexibility to work across the stack, and you're already using (or excited to use) AI tools to code, debug, and test faster, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, RESTful and gRPC APIs for scalable microservices.
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code in Python and contribute to UI development using JavaScript (React).
- Build and optimize scalable microservices and data models using relational and NoSQL databases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and frontend engineers to deliver reliable features.
- Use observability tools (e.g., logs, metrics, traces) to debug and optimize backend performance.
- Leverage AI-driven development (e.g., Cursor AI, Codex, Copilot, Gemini, Windsurf) for code generation, testing, and debugging.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering best practices.
Frontend Exposure (Nice to Have / Required)
- Contribute to UI development using JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar frameworks UI's)
- Collaborate with design teams to build responsive, performant, and accessible
- Understand frontend-backend integration, including API consumption and state management
- Debug issues across the stack (browser to database)
What We're Looking For:
- 15 years of backend development experience
- Proficiency in at least one server-side language: Python
- Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and SQL.
- Basic frontend experience using JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) for building UI components and integrating APIs.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB or MongoDB.
- Proficiency in AI prompting for code generation, debugging, and automation.
- Familiarity with one of the AI tools (e.g., Cursor AI, Codex, Copilot, Gemini, Windsurf)
- Experience with microservices architecture, version control (Git), and CI/CD workflows.
- Clear communication and ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.
