Build and own backend services for Fineye's BSA platform (statement ingestion extraction categorisation insights reports) and partner integrations.
Develop and maintain secure, scalable APIs for lenders and fintech partners; improve API documentation and integration experience.
Work on document intelligence workflows including OCR/data extraction services and bank-format handling (ePDF + scanned PDFs).
Improve system performance and reliability: reduce processing latency, increase throughput, and support dynamic volume spikes through autoscaling patterns.
Collaborate with Product to translate underwriting needs into robust rules/logic (e.g., salary detection, transaction tagging) and measurable quality outcomes.
Write clean, testable code; set engineering standards for reviews, CI/CD, observability, and incident response
Requirements
35+ years of strong Python backend experience building production systems (APIs, services, async workers).
Strong experience with at least one backend framework: FastAPI / Django / Flask, plus REST API design and security basics.
Solid foundations in system design (scalability, fault tolerance, performance) and database design (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
Experience with cloud deployments, Docker, and CI/CD; familiarity with Kubernetes/autoscaling is a plus.
Strong debugging skills and ownership mindset in production environments.
Experience with OCR/data extraction pipelines and preprocessing (OpenCV, Tesseract/EasyOCR/PaddleOCR, or managed OCR services).
