Python Backend Developer / Data Automation Engineer (Utilities Domain)

Key Responsibilities:

- Work on assigned backlog items in close collaboration with http://E.ON business and technical teams.

- Design, develop, and support backend solutions using Python and SQL.

- Consume and integrate APIs, including data extraction, transformation, parsing, and storage in backend systems.

- Perform data analysis and backend processing to support business workflows.

- Analyze existing Excel-based processes.

- Understand complex Excel functions, formulas, and logic currently used in operations.

- Propose optimized, scalable technical solutions to replace or improve Excel-heavy workflows.

- Collaborate with a Technical Architect during analysis and solution design phases when required.

- Identify opportunities for automation or AI-led solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

- Ensure high code quality, reliability, performance, and adherence to development best practices.

- Participate in agile ceremonies, technical discussions, and cross-team collaboration.

Required Skills:

- Strong hands-on experience with SQL (complex queries, data handling).

- Strong proficiency in Python for backend and data-related development.

- Experience working with APIs for data integration and transformation.

- Experience in the Utilities / Energy industry.

- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, large datasets, analysis).

- Exposure to solution architecture and automation or AI-driven approaches.
