PYP Homeroom Teacher

Position: PYP Homeroom Teacher (Primary Years Programme)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning experiences aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework.
• Serve as the primary teacher responsible for the overall academic, social, emotional, and personal development of students in the assigned class.
• Facilitate inquiry-based, concept-driven, and transdisciplinary learning.
• Develop students literacy, numeracy, research, communication, self-management, social, and thinking skills.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student agency and international-mindedness.
• Assess, monitor, and document student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies.
• Maintain student portfolios, progress records, report cards, and learning documentation.
• Collaborate with specialist teachers, coordinators, and support staff to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, wellbeing, and development.
• Organize and participate in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, field trips, and co-curricular activities.
• Integrate technology effectively to support teaching and learning.
• Participate actively in curriculum planning, professional development, and school improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate OR Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant subject area.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
• PYP training/certification preferred.
• Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in primary grades, preferably in an IB, Cambridge, or international school.
• Excellent English communication and ICT skills.
