Job Description

Position Summary

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing and procurement strategies to support business objectives, cost competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity. This role drives supplier selection, contract negotiation, cost optimization, and risk management initiatives while ensuring timely material availability and optimal inventory levels. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to manage procurement activities, address quality issues, evaluate sourcing opportunities, and deliver sustainable cost savings that contribute to the organization's bottom-line performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans for the purchasing function

  • Contributes to deliver bottom line/top line results, managing own spend/projects according to long term planning and upfront targets defined

  • Conducts periodic risk assessment, designing and managing adequate countermeasures for selected spend

  • To review with vendors on quality issues and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken by vendors

  • Review & plan purchasing order through :

    • Internal : collect related customer inquiries from Sales on specification and lead time

    • External : sourcing suppliers, networking, market information and negotiation

  • Source for required material and suppliers, either directly or through consultant

  • Procurement of material and negotiation with suppliers, ensuring price is always competitive and landed cost evaluation is performed

  • Evaluate prices and suppliers and make selection recommendation to project and stakeholders

  • BOM and material planning to ensure smooth delivery at min. inventory level

  • Yearly cost saving initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, logistics, business, or a related field (Master's preferred) experience sourcing electrical power products is a strong plus

  • Minimum 8 years of combined experience in supply chain, program management, or engineering, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

  • Experience working in cable harness and box-build / manufacturing environment.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects across organizational lines

  • Ability to prioritize effectively under pressure and adapt quickly to change

  • Possess with strong leadership and must be a team player
