Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Purchase Merchandiser to oversee the end-to-end procurement process, vendor coordination, inventory planning, and quality management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, order tracking, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring smooth coordination between suppliers, production, and warehouse teams to meet organizational goals efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Sourcing & Relationship Management
- Identify and source new suppliers and product articles.
- Manage vendor onboarding and build long-term partnerships through effective communication and performance tracking.
- Purchase Order Management
- Create and manage purchase orders with complete specifications and accuracy.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely updates and follow-ups with suppliers.
- Demand Planning & Market Trend Analysis
- Plan purchases based on current sales performance, stock movement, and seasonal trends.
- Ensure inventory is aligned with customer demand and market relevance.
- Purchase Data Maintenance
- Maintain and regularly update purchase records and data logs.
- Periodically review purchase data to ensure accuracy and support data-driven decisions.
- Cross-Department Coordination
- Work closely with the production team for timely material handover and garment completion.
- Coordinate with the warehouse for proper storage and stock organization.
- Pre-Production Sample Approvals
- Manage the pre-production sample approval process, ensuring quality and design specifications are met before bulk production.
- Dispatch & Logistics Coordination
- Track shipments, manage dispatch schedules, and follow up with vendors for timely delivery of goods and repeat orders.
- Quality Control & Issue Resolution
- Oversee quality checks on all incoming purchases.
- Address and resolve any issues related to product quality or production.
- Inventory & Stock Monitoring
- Analyze sales data and stock reports to manage fast/slow-moving items.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to avoid overstock or shortages.
- Purchase & Inventory Reporting
- Prepare and maintain reports for fabric and ready goods procurement.
- Generate stock and inventory status reports for internal review.
- Labeling & Production Support
- Dispatch tags/labels to suppliers for labeling and production.
- Ensure labeling accuracy as per brand guidelines.
- Model Shoot Coordination
- Follow up on model shoots to ensure proper execution and timely coordination with relevant teams.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Design, Business Administration, or related field.
- 25 years of relevant experience in purchase merchandising or procurement (preferably in garments/fashion industry).
- Strong vendor negotiation and coordination skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Tally/ERP systems, and email communication.
- Good knowledge of fabric, trims, and garment production processes.
- Analytical, organized, and able to handle multi-tasking under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
