Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Purchasing Engineer role based in Sonipat. The Purchasing Engineer will manage end-to-end procurement activities, including identifying suppliers, requesting quotations, evaluating bids, and preparing purchase orders for oilfield equipment and related materials. The role involves coordinating with engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials while meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The Purchasing Engineer will monitor supplier performance, negotiate terms, and maintain accurate procurement records and reports. Daily responsibilities also include analyzing demand and inventory levels, supporting purchase planning, resolving order discrepancies, and contributing to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including purchase management and purchase planning.
- Hands-on experience creating, reviewing, and tracking purchase orders.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to compare quotations, optimize costs, and assess supplier performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or oil and gas procurement is highly beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Proficiency with ERP or procurement software and standard office productivity tools.
- Strong attention to detail, negotiation skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
