Role Description

• This is a full-time, on-site Purchasing Engineer role based in Chennai.
• Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including vendor identification, quotation evaluation, and negotiation of terms to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and components.
• Involves planning purchase requirements, preparing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules.
• Collaborate with stores team and monitor inventory levels, analyze consumption patterns, and support strategic sourcing decisions using data-driven insights.
• Day-to-day responsibilities also include maintaining accurate purchasing records, resolving supply issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of purchasing processes and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Purchasing Processes, Purchase Management, and Purchase Planning.
• Candidates should possess practical experience handling Purchase Orders and related documentation.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to evaluate costs, supplier performance, and inventory data.
• Relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing procurement, preferably in metals or alloys, is beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in Chennai, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with vendors and colleagues.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP Next or purchasing software and MS Excel, along with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail, is advantageous.
