Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Purchasing Assistant role based in Redhills,Chennai . The Purchasing Assistant supports day-to-day procurement operations by assisting with vendor communication, preparing and processing purchase orders, and tracking deliveries. The role includes maintaining accurate purchasing records, updating internal systems, and coordinating with warehouse, finance, and other internal teams to ensure timely availability of materials and products. The Purchasing Assistant helps compare prices and terms, follows up on pending orders, and supports basic inventory checks to avoid stock shortages. The role may also involve assisting in vendor evaluation, managing documentation, and contributing to process improvements within the purchasing function.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes, including basic knowledge of purchasing workflows and best practices.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and managing purchase orders with attention to accuracy and timelines.
  • Foundational skills in purchasing and procurement, including vendor coordination and price comparison.
  • Effective communication skills for clear, professional interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and Zoho Inventory; ability to maintain organized records.
  • Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to follow structured procedures and deadlines.
  • Ability to work on-site, collaborate in a team environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prior experience in purchasing, supply chain, or administrative support is preferred; a diploma or degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is an advantage.
