Important: Core Nutraceutical Purchase experience is mandatory. Candidates from general FMCG/industrial purchase without relevant nutraceutical raw-material experience will not be preferred.

Fermentis Lifesciences (FLS) is a leading contract manufacturing partner for the Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, and health and wellness industries. We manufacture gummies, nutrition bars, powders, capsules, tablets, liquids, and softgels for private-label and custom-formulation needs.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager – Raw Material with strong hands-on experience in the Nutraceutical / CDMO industry. The candidate should have proven expertise in raw-material sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiation, and timely procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of nutraceutical raw materials as per R&D, PPIC and production requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers/manufacturers.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead time, and commercial conditions
• Ensure timely availability of materials and develop alternate sources for critical items.
• Coordinate with R&D, QA/QC, Production, PPIC and Stores for specifications, approvals and material requirements.
• Ensure availability of COA, MSDS, specifications, allergen, and other required quality/ regulatory documents.
• Monitor vendor performance, market prices, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Handle purchase orders, supplier follow-ups, and resolve procurement-related issues.
• Drive cost optimization through negotiation and alternate vendor development.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor database, and procurement MIS.

Mandatory Raw Material Experience

The candidate must have hands-on procurement experience in:

• Proteins: WPC, WPI, Hydrolyzed Whey, Plant Proteins, Collagen and Protein Blends.
• Vitamins & Minerals: Individual ingredients and premixes.
• Herbal & Botanical Extracts: Standardized extracts and functional botanicals.
• Amino Acids & Functional Ingredients: BCAA/EAA, Creatine, CoQ10 and other specialty ingredients.
• Probiotics & Prebiotics: Probiotic cultures, Inulin, FOS/GOS and functional fibres.
• Omega & Oils: Fish Oil, DHA/EPA, Omega-3, MCT and other nutraceutical oils.
• Flavours, Sweeteners & Colours: Natural/nature-identical flavours, Stevia, Sucralose, Erythritol, Sorbitol and permitted colours.
• Excipients: Pectin, Gelatin, MCC, starches, gums, stabilizers, binders, fillers, lubricants and other processing ingredients.

Experience in raw materials used for Gummies, Protein Powders, Bars, Tablets, Capsules, Sachets

and Liquid/Syrup formulations will be preferred.

Candidate Profile

• 8–10 years of relevant Purchase/Procurement experience, preferably in Nutraceuticals/CDMO.
• Strong nutraceutical raw-material supplier network will be an advantage.
• Strong vendor development, negotiation, and cost-control skills.
• Good understanding of raw-material specifications and quality documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/Purchase Management systems.
