Job Description

Purchase Engineer:

Position Scope & Purpose: Responsible for maintaining the Purchase & Logistics and to facilitate development and implementation of good stratergy to support Organisation growth plan.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

  • Position is responsible in sourcing, commercial negotiation, vendor evaluation, vendor
  • Commercial negotiation, preparation of bidding (comparative statement), Purchase order creation, Vendor development, Vendor relation, Material Management, & Supply chain management.
  • Responsible for procurement of material required by the Design, R&D, Maintenance & other respective department of the company.
  • Responsibilities of fully computerized & SAP Procurement screening of requisition prior to forwarding for procurement in charge, material procurement receipts, physical inspection, stacking, maintain minimum & maximum level of critical & fast-moving items
  • Maintaining all procurement documents & documentation.
  • Planning for procurement initiative actions according to the Bill of Material receiving from design, R&D, Maintenance & other respective department.
  • Vendor Development, PO creation, Vendor relationship building, Material Delivery and processing.
  • Planning for Consumables, General stationeries, Housekeeping materials and equipment's.
  • Reconciliation of open POs and PRs, Maintaining the vendor data, Vendor classification based on supplying the goods.
  • Follow-up for the delivery and ensuring the goods delivering on time based on the production requirements.
  • Invoice creation arranging for the courier services, taking care of vendor payments against the invoice etc.,

Other Position Duties:

  • Working with supplier to get the ordered material in time to meet just in time & meet Quality requirement & supplier rating.
  • Good documentation skills to maintain the relevant documents up to date for audits

Technical/Functional Skill Sets:

  • Basic Knowledge of MS-Excel, MS-Word, Power Point
  • ERP software (preferably SAP) operations and report generation would be added advantage

Personal Qualities/Characteristics required for the position:

  • Hard Working & keen on taking additional duty and punctual, can work in shifts and completes the given targets in time which help others depts to function smoothly.
