We are looking for a skilled Purchase Engineer with experience in procurement activities for precision engineering products and manufacturing industries. The candidate will be responsible for vendor development, material procurement, cost negotiation, and coordination with production and stores departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, tooling, consumables, and engineering components as per production requirements.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships for cost-effective purchasing.
- Compare quotations and negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms.
- Coordinate with production, stores, and quality departments for material planning.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain procurement records.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules.
- Maintain inventory control and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of engineering materials and machining components.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP/software systems is an added advantage.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchase/procurement activities in precision engineering or manufacturing industry.
