Purchase Engineer - Civil

Role Description The Purchase Engineer - Civil will manage end-to-end procurement activities for civil and construction materials, components, and services. This full-time, on-site role is based in Ahmedabad and involves sourcing vendors, obtaining quotations, evaluating technical and commercial terms, and negotiating to ensure cost-effective and quality procurement. The role includes preparing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with project, site, and stores teams to align material delivery with project schedules, and maintaining accurate purchase records. The Purchase Engineer - Civil will monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, support vendor development, and contribute to optimizing inventory levels. The position requires close collaboration with engineering and execution teams to ensure timely availability of materials for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including vendor identification, quotation comparison, and procurement documentation.
• Experience in purchase management and purchase planning for civil and construction materials.
• Hands-on experience creating, reviewing, and managing purchase orders and related records.
• Solid analytical skills for cost analysis, negotiation support, and evaluation of supplier performance.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with construction materials, specifications, and basic project execution requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office and, preferably, ERP or procurement management software.
• Effective communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work with site, engineering, and finance teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with high attention to detail.
• Prior experience in industrial or infrastructure construction purchasing is an advantage.
