Job Description
Role Description This full-time, on-site Purchase and Vendor Development Engineer role is based at Allengers Medical System Limited in Chandigarh. The role involves managing end-to-end procurement activities for components, materials, and services required for medical equipment manufacturing. Responsibilities include identifying, evaluating, and developing new vendors; negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts; and ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance. The engineer will collaborate closely with production, quality, design, and logistics teams to align purchasing plans with project requirements and inventory levels. Day-to-day tasks also include maintaining vendor performance records, analyzing cost and supply risks, supporting audits, and continuously improving procurement processes to optimize cost, quality, and reliability of supply.

- Should possess strong vendor development and supplier management skills, including experience in vendor evaluation, onboarding, performance monitoring, and relationship building.
- Should have solid purchasing and procurement skills, such as negotiation, cost analysis, contract management, and familiarity with purchase order and inventory systems.
- Should demonstrate good technical understanding of engineering components, manufacturing processes, and quality standards relevant to medical devices or similar industries.
- Should be proficient in data analysis and reporting using tools such as spreadsheets and ERP systems, with the ability to interpret trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Should have effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Should possess strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or related field) or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
- Experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, or regulated manufacturing environments is an advantage, along with knowledge of relevant quality and regulatory standards.
