Position Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Health Specialist with a strong academic background and practical expertise in Government of India public health initiatives, particularly the National Health Mission (NHM). The ideal candidate will support the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of public health programs in alignment with central and state government health policies. This role involves active collaboration with stakeholders, data-driven decision-making, policy interpretation, and program implementation.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and support strategic planning and implementation of public health programs aligned with NHM, RMNCH+A, NUHM, Ayushman Bharat, and other Government of India initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance for program design, proposal development, and policy alignment with MoHFW guidelines.
- Conduct health system assessments, gap analysis, and baseline surveys to identify priorities at the state/district levels.
- Liaise with State Health Societies, NHM Mission Directors, government officials, and partner organizations for smooth program implementation.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes using government-defined indicators and suggest corrective measures for improved impact.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders, funding agencies, and government departments.
- Ensure compliance with national public health standards, data protocols (HMIS, RCH Portal, e-Upkaran, etc.), and reporting guidelines.
- Train and mentor project teams and health workers on technical guidelines, SOPs, and new government schemes.
Required Qualifications and Skills:- Master's degree in Public Health, Community Medicine, Health Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 510 years of relevant experience in public health program management, preferably within NHM or Government of India-supported health projects.
- Strong knowledge of government health schemes (e.g., RBSK, JSSK, NCD programs, PM-JAY, NPCDCS, etc.)
- Experience in working with state and district health authorities, NGOs, development partners, or technical support units.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of GIS tools or health information systems is a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively to field locations across states.
Desirable Attributes:- Experience in policy advocacy, public health system strengthening, or digital health innovation.
- Familiarity with WHO, UN, or World Bank health frameworks.
- Ability to manage multi-stakeholder partnerships and government relationships.
