We're currently looking for a Public Affairs Manager on a full time, permanent basis. This position sits within the Relationships team and will be based in Malaysia.
This role contributes to the shaping and executing of ACCA's public affairs agenda in the region, aligning with the global policy priorities and providing leadership to ACCA's public affairs community.
The Job
Reporting to the Regional Head of Public Affairs (APAC), this role:
- Contributes to the development and execution of the public affairs strategies and plans in Asia Pacific as part of ACCA's integrated ecosystem
- Work with the regional leadership team to ensure public affairs strategies and plans are aligned and integrated with wider planning
- Contributes to the development of the stakeholder relationships plan to identify key priorities and exploration of opportunities
- Work with the relevant teams and functions to assess, prioritise, and manage stakeholder relationship and the identified opportunities based on an understanding of overall impact and benefit
- Drives the achievement of key outcomes and measures through effective leadership of the public affairs community
- Contributes to the development of ACCA's regional ecosystem, making and facilitating high value connections between partners and prioritised stakeholders
- Contributes to the development and optimisation of public affairs stakeholder relationships to deliver maximum impact
- Contributes to the development of a community of partners and stakeholders, identifying and communicating insights and trends to drive the creation and improvement of strategies, approaches and content
- Contributes to the implementation of ACCA's global solutions and content
- Acts as a key external ambassador for ACCA, representing the brand and organisation to maximise impact on profile and reputation
- Inspires the regional community of public affairs professionals by role modelling the ACCA behaviours, sharing expertise and best practice, building engagement and supporting performance and development
- Actively participate in coaching and mentoring activities to continue build expertise, motivate, retain and optimise performance regionally.
The Person
We are looking for someone who has:
- Extensive experience in a professional firm, consulting or financial services environment
- Relevant exposure to international or regional stakeholder engagement would be appreciated
- Deep understanding of the government, regulatory and accountancy landscape in Asia Pacific, particularly ASEAN
- Ability to think strategically, translate business strategy into business plans, and communicate strategic plans effectively
- Ability to provide leadership, inspire and motivate a community of colleagues
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build long term, high quality, trusted relationships at the most senior levels
- Outstanding communicator with excellent presentation skills, both written and oral
- Highly skilled networker with advanced influencing and negotiation skills
- A relevant professional qualification would be advantageous
- Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic with the ability to plan and organise work to meet stretching targets.
