- Windchill Administrator / Deployment Engineer
Position Summary
- We are seeking a skilled Windchill Administrator / Deployment Engineer with strong expertise in PTC Windchill administration, Linux system management, deployment automation, and release management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing deployments across multiple environments, maintaining platform stability, supporting infrastructure operations, and collaborating within Agile delivery teams.
- Key Responsibilities
- 1. Deployment & Release Management
- Execute Windchill deployments independently across Development, QA, and Production environments.
- Perform deployment activities requiring full Windchill administrative access.
- Manage configuration updates, application lifecycle operations, and environment validation.
- Prepare environments for scheduled releases and validate deployment readiness.
- Conduct post-deployment verification and health checks.
- Monitor deployment activities and proactively resolve issues.
- Execute rollback procedures when required.
- Support production issue resolution related to deployments.
- Ensure compliance with release governance, change management processes, and deployment standards.
- 2. Windchill & ThingWorx Platform Administration
- Administer and maintain PTC Windchill environments.
- Support ThingWorx and ThingWorx Navigate installations and upgrades.
- Perform certificate management, updates, and renewals.
- Execute platform patching and system maintenance activities.
- Maintain consistency across multi-node Windchill and ThingWorx environments.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and overall health.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues.
- 3. Linux Administration & Infrastructure Support
- Perform hands-on Linux administration activities.
- Manage filesystems, application services, and operating system configurations.
- Execute Linux-based deployment and troubleshooting tasks.
- Support system upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance.
- Monitor server performance and address operational issues.
- Assist with infrastructure-related troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- 4. DevOps & Automation
- Support deployment automation initiatives using industry-standard tools.
- Work with Jenkins deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.
- Utilize Chef and SCM tools for configuration and deployment automation.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for operational efficiency.
- Support version control and release automation practices.
- 5. Agile Delivery & Collaboration
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including:
- Daily Standups
- Sprint Planning
- Backlog Refinement
- Sprint Reviews
- Manage deployment activities and release tasks using Jira.
- Maintain deployment documentation, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
- Identify deployment risks, operational gaps, and process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, QA, and support teams.
- Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
- Engineering
- Related Technical Discipline
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Required Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in Windchill Administration and Deployment.
- 3–5 years of experience in Linux System Administration.
- Experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as:
- Medical Technology or
- Healthcare or
- Life Sciences or
- Manufacturing
