Position Overview
This is a hands-on engagement embedded within a Scrum team, focused on configuring, customizing, and integrating PTC FlexPLM within a retail/apparel merchandising operations ecosystem. The developer will work directly with merchandising, sourcing, and product development stakeholders to extend platform capabilities and ensure reliable data flow across enterprise systems including ERP, CMS, and OMS.
Role & Responsibilities
- Configure and customize FlexPLM modules — line planning, BOM, costing, and sourcing — to meet merchandising and product development requirements
- Develop platform customizations using SSPs, CSPs, and JSP overrides aligned to retail-specific business workflows
- Build and maintain integrations between FlexPLM and enterprise systems (ERP, CMS, OMS) via REST and SOAP APIs
- Support data migration from legacy systems into FlexPLM using OOTB loaders and custom migration scripts
- Configure workflows, lifecycles, business rules, and role-based access controls within the FlexPLM data model
- Translate business requirements from merchandising and sourcing stakeholders into technical specifications and working solutions
- Support unit testing, SIT, and UAT cycles; diagnose and resolve production issues within agreed SLAs
Must Have Criteria
- 4+ years of hands-on PTC FlexPLM development experience in Retail PLM (not generic Windchill or manufacturing PLM)
- Demonstrated FlexPLM customization using SSPs, CSPs, and JSP overrides
- Strong Java 8+ proficiency used in FlexPLM customization and integration development
- Hands-on FlexPLM configuration: types, attributes, workflows, lifecycles, and data model setup
- Integration development via REST and SOAP web services connecting FlexPLM to ERP/OMS/CMS systems
- SQL proficiency on Oracle or SQL Server for data validation, migration support, and troubleshooting
- Functional knowledge of at least 2 FlexPLM modules: Line Planning, BOM, Sourcing, Costing, or Merchandising
- Retail, apparel, or fashion industry domain exposure
Nice to Have
- Experience with FlexPLM data migration using OOTB loaders or custom bulk-loading approaches
- Prior involvement in FlexPLM version upgrades
- Familiarity with Windchill APIs or Info*Engine for cross-platform integration
- Exposure to Spring Boot or microservices architecture
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git in an Agile/Scrum environment
