Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Student Counsellor with expertise in child and adolescent psychology to support the emotional, social, and academic well-being of students. The counsellor will provide individual and group counselling, guide students in coping with stress, and collaborate with teachers and parents to foster a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students on academic, emotional, social, and behavioral concerns.
Design and implement wellness programs, workshops, and awareness sessions on topics such as stress management, exam preparation, bullying, peer relationships, and mental health.
Identify students requiring special interventions and develop support plans in collaboration with teachers and parents.
Maintain confidential counselling records and ensure ethical practices as per RCI guidelines.
Support students during transition phases (primary to middle, middle to senior, board exam preparation, career guidance collaboration).
Work closely with the school leadership, teachers, and parents to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
Refer students to external professionals/agencies if specialised support is required.
Conduct periodic assessments to track student progress and report outcomes to the school management.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Qualification:
Master's degree in Clinical Psychology (mandatory).
RCI Certification (mandatory).
Experience
Minimum 45 years of counselling experience, preferably in a school or child-adolescent care setting.
Skills
Strong interpersonal, listening, and empathetic communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
Knowledge of child development, behavioural interventions, and mental health strategies.
Effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Work Environment & Expectations
Available for students during school hours and as per requirement.
Attend parent-teacher meetings, staff training, and school events when needed.
