Job Description

Role: Technical Writer State & Federal Bids

Location:100 feet Road, Madhapur

Duration: Full time

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer specialising in government procurement to join our team. This role is critical to our success in winning State and Federal contracts by producing compelling, compliant, and well-structured proposal documents, RFP responses, and supporting technical content.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal & Bid Writing

writing, editing, and formatting responses to State and Federal RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and SOWs

Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and compliant proposal narratives

Develop and maintain a library of reusable proposal content, boilerplate language, and past performance write-ups

Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs), solution architects, and project managers to gather inputs and ensure technical accuracy

Compliance & Research

Analyse solicitation documents (FAR, DFARS, GSA, SAM.gov listings) to ensure full compliance with government formatting and content requirements

Track and interpret Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency-specific guidelines

Maintain compliance matrices and requirement traceability throughout proposal development

Editing & Quality Assurance

Review and edit proposals for clarity, grammar, consistency, and tone

Conduct color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold) and incorporate reviewer feedback

Ensure all deliverables meet page limits, font, margin, and submission format requirements

Collaboration & Process

Work closely with Capture Managers, Bid Managers, and Project Managers throughout the proposal life cycle

Support kick-off meetings, story boarding sessions, and proposal schedule management

Assist in post-award documentation such as transition plans, project plans, and deliverable reports

Required Qualifications:

  • 37 years of experience in technical writing for government contracts (State and/or Federal)
  • Demonstrated experience responding to RFPs from agencies such as DOD, DHS, HHS, GSA, or State-level procurement offices
  • Strong understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and government proposal processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional written communication, grammar, and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field
  • Familiarity with APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) methodology; APMP certification is a plus
  • Experience with GSA Schedule proposals or IDIQ/GWAC vehicles (e.g., Alliant, OASIS, CIO-SP3)
  • Experience working with Shipley Method or similar proposal development frameworks
  • Familiarity with SAM.gov, GovWin
