Role Description
We are looking for a strategic Business Development Executive to own the front end of our client acquisition pipeline. The primary focus is identifying the right projects on Upwork and writing tailored, high-quality proposals that convert. This role also supports LinkedIn outreach and brand promotion to build visibility and attract inbound leads.
This is not a volume-based role. We want someone who reads briefs carefully, understands what clients actually need, and responds with precision and credibility.
The role demands persuasive writing that establishes JPFIS Consulting's credibility through relevant work samples and demonstrated expertise; the candidate must be able to quickly analyse each project's requirements and assess the alignment between the firm's areas of interest and the client's needs before pursuing any engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and evaluate suitable projects on Upwork aligned with JPFIS's service offering
• Write tailored proposals that directly address client needs, along with relevant portfolio samples
• Track project outcomes and continuously refine the bid strategy
• Conduct personalised LinkedIn outreach to target clients — founders, CFOs, and finance leads
• Support promotion of JPFIS content and announcements on LinkedIn
• Maintain a live pipeline tracker covering active bids, conversations, and conversion status
Requirements
• 2 – 5 years of experience in highly customized proposal writing and client outreach.
• Excellent written English — clean, confident, and client-facing
• Ability to identify client needs from a brief and communicate with credibility
• Strategic approach to project selection — quality and fit over volume
• Familiarity with tools: Canva, Excel, email, PDF, and LinkedIn
• Upwork experience is not required but is highly desirable. Necessary training will be provided.
Compensation
Highly competitive Fixed monthly retainer plus a performance bonus tied to projects converted into paid engagements. Specific figures will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
