Your Impact

You will drive client development at the intersection of Banking, AI, and technology-enabled transformation.

McKinsey's Banking Practice serves leading banks, fintechs, regulators, central banks, and finance ministries across financial services, including retail and corporate banking, payments, wealth and asset management, and public finance.

Based in Gurugram, you will work closely with Banking Practice leaders, Partners, consultants, and technology experts to advance priority client opportunities.

You will act as a strategic thought partner and hands-on enabler of AI-led client development, translating emerging technologies into compelling client propositions and differentiated solutions. You will lead high-impact proposals, RFP responses, solution narratives, and AI-enabled demonstrations or proof-of-concepts (PoCs) that showcase McKinsey's capabilities and help financial institutions reimagine their businesses.

You will collaborate across Banking leadership, consulting teams, and multidisciplinary teams of designers, engineers, and business experts to bring the best of the firm to clients. As part of the global Proposal Services community, you will also contribute to advancing proposal excellence, AI-enabled ways of working, and client development best practices.

Your work combines banking expertise, AI and technology fluency, commercial acumen, proposal leadership, and stakeholder management to help shape the next generation of banking transformation opportunities.

You will report to the Banking PEX Line Leader and will be responsible for the following: driving end-to-end development of high-priority banking proposals and RFP responses, working with consulting teams to create compelling, differentiated, and client-centric propositions; partnering with Banking Practice leaders to identify and shape client development opportunities, particularly those involving AI, GenAI, agentic workflows, and technology-led business transformation; translating complex banking challenges and emerging technology capabilities into clear, commercially compelling value propositions, executive narratives, solution approaches, and implementation roadmaps.

You will help conceptualize, develop, and coordinate AI- and Agentic AI-enabled PoCs, demonstrations, and solution blueprints that illustrate the transformative potential of emerging technologies for financial institutions. You will work closely with technology specialists, solution architects, and consulting teams to translate business use cases into practical AI-enabled workflows and compelling client-facing demonstrations. You will apply hands-on familiarity with modern AI development tools, agentic frameworks, and enterprise technology architectures to strengthen the technical credibility and differentiation of proposals.

You will also act as a thought partner to senior Banking stakeholders on proposal strategy, competitive positioning, solution differentiation, and client communications; bring together the best of McKinsey's industry expertise, proprietary assets, technology capabilities, and global experience to address client-specific needs; and orchestrate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality proposals within demanding timelines, navigating ambiguity and competing priorities effectively.

Your Qualifications and Skills

• Master's degree or the equivalent in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in consulting, financial services, client development, or proposal management
• Strong understanding of banking and financial services, including retail banking, corporate banking, payments, or wealth and asset management, with an ability to identify opportunities for AI-led transformation
• Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, or deploying AI and Agentic AI solutions; proficiency with tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub; and working knowledge of enterprise technology architectures, cloud platforms, APIs, and data integration
• Proven ability to translate business and technology concepts into compelling client propositions, competitive proposals, RFP responses, and executive presentations, supported by strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, orchestrate cross-functional teams, and influence senior stakeholders while delivering high-quality outcomes under tight timelines
• Proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented, with strong ownership, adaptability, and curiosity to explore emerging technologies and drive innovation in financial services
