Proposal Engineer

Role & responsibilities

•  Understanding requirements of customers Studying the enquiry details, preparing pre-bid queries, seeking clarifications & necessary design inputs, site study visits • Developing optimum solution Proposal & submission in committed time Developing Scheme, Process Flow Diagram, P&ID, Sizing the Product & other equipment, GA, Equipment Layout, Ducting Layout, Power Distribution Scheme, Automation & Control Scheme, with review & optimization, Technical Proposal document preparation along with deviations/clarifications list in coordination with E&I Engineer and Drafting Engineer, Proposal work planning including the in-process self review as well as review by Proposal Group Head.
• Satisfying customer concerns technical presentation and discussion with the customer and/or consultant, sorting out all queries. • Collaboration -Close coordination with our Sales team during the complete bidding process and also coordination with the other Proposals team members, Engineering, Projects, Materials, Construction, QA, Logistics, Safety, and Services team members to collect all necessary inputs for optimum solution development, weight & cost estimation. Weight optimization with support from the Engineering team. Providing timely inputs to our Construction team & obtaining an estimation of I&C costs.
• Bought-outs Estimation - Floating RFQs and collecting backup quotations for bought out items from approved sub-suppliers, referring to buying experience in the recent past, understanding fair pricing, negotiating with sub-suppliers, and preparing the best possible cost estimate.
• Post-Order: Project Creation, ODS Release, Conducting OTM, preparing WBS, Budget entry in ERP, resolving ODS clarifications, Review of Basic Engineering, supporting project execution team as & when necessary, collecting feedback on estimation v/s actual executed data of fabrication quantities, bought-out costs, logistics costs, construction costs, etc.
• Right First Time Proposal development & accurate cost estimation

Preferred candidate profile

• Knowledge of Electrostatic Precipitator / Bag Filter based Air Pollution Control systems for various industrial applications
• Knowledge of manufacturing process of Cement, Iron & Steel, Boiler applications (Aluminum, Copper, Zinc, Glass Plants knowledge will be beneficial)
• Experience in Proposal Development, Weight & Cost Estimation

• Candidate should be ready to travel for visiting Plants & Offices in India & abroad as needed Knowledge of ERP, AutoCAD, DMS, and Office 365
