Job Description

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead and manage Property Claims handling for Fire, Industrial All Risk (IAR), and Engineering policies. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on exposure in property loss assessment and claim settlement, preferably with prior experience in a Surveyor firm. The role requires technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage complex and high-value claims efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end handling of Property Claims under Fire, IAR, and Engineering policies.

Supervise and guide the claims team in assessment, documentation, and settlement processes.

Review policy wordings, coverage, exclusions, and ensure accurate interpretation.

Coordinate with surveyors, loss assessors, insurers, reinsurers, and clients.

Oversee site visits and loss assessments for major and complex claims.

Evaluate survey reports, technical assessments, estimates, and financial documents.

Ensure timely and fair claim settlement in line with policy terms and regulatory requirements.

Handle large loss and technically complex claims independently.

Monitor claim reserves and recommend appropriate provisioning.

Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, IRDAI regulations, and audit requirements.

Prepare MIS reports and update management on claim status and trends.

Support negotiation and dispute resolution where required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Strong technical knowledge of Fire, IAR, and Engineering insurance policies.

In-depth understanding of property loss assessment and claim quantification.

Experience working in or closely with a Surveyor firm preferred.

Leadership and team management capability.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Ability to manage high-value and time-sensitive claims.

Graduate in any discipline (Engineering background preferred).

Insurance qualifications such as AIII/FIII or equivalent preferred.
