We are looking for a highly experienced Proxmox VE Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and hybrid (on-prem + cloud) infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux, virtualization, networking, security, and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Proxmox VE clusters in production environments
- Configure and maintain KVM-based virtual machines and LXC containers
- Implement and manage High Availability (HA) and live migration
- Manage storage integrations (Ceph, NFS, iSCSI, ZFS)
- Configure and manage VPNs (IPSec, OpenVPN, WireGuard) for secure access
- Implement network security controls, firewall rules, and access policies
- Design and manage virtual networking (VLANs, bridges, bonding)
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration
- Work with Docker for containerization and application deployment
- Integrate and manage workloads across Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
- Support hybrid cloud architecture (on-prem Proxmox + cloud environments)
- Ensure secure access via IAM, RBAC, and SSH hardening
- Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning
- Monitor system performance and optimize infrastructure
- Automate tasks using Bash, Python, or Ansible
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network, cloud, and security issues
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams
- Maintain documentation and SOPs
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Proxmox VE
- Deep expertise in Linux system administration
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts:
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- VLANs, routing, switching
- Firewalls and load balancing
- Hands-on experience with VPN technologies (IPSec / OpenVPN / WireGuard)
- Experience with Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, troubleshooting)
- Strong experience with Docker and container ecosystems
- Experience with cloud platforms:
- Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM)
- Microsoft Azure (VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure AD)
- Expertise in storage systems (Ceph, ZFS preferred)
- Experience with security best practices and access control (IAM/RBAC)
- Scripting/automation (Bash, Python, Ansible)
- Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
Preferred / Good to Have
- Experience in hybrid cloud architecture
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools
- Exposure to Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience in security compliance and audits
- Relevant certifications (AWS / Azure / Kubernetes / Linux)
