Role Overview

The Team Manager Procurement will own end-to-end procurement for Lighthouse Learning Group's school expansion and refurbishment projects across India. This role requires deep expertise in Real Estate, Construction, and MEP procurement, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-growth environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Own end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) for construction, interiors, and MEP-related procurement across multiple Lighthouse Learning school projects.
  2. Build, evaluate, onboard, and manage a strong vendor and contractor ecosystem for Civil, Interiors, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Fighting, ELV, Furniture, and allied works.
  3. Work closely with the Projects, Design, and Real Estate teams to understand scope, timelines, technical requirements, and commercial terms; review BOQs, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  4. Drive the RFQ and tendering processfloating inquiries, coordinating site visits, receiving bids, and conducting detailed technical and commercial evaluations.
  5. Lead price discovery and negotiations using market intelligence, benchmarking, and comparative analysis to deliver cost optimization without compromising quality or timelines.
  6. Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to recommend L1 or best-fit contractors, factoring in technical capability, delivery track record, and commercial viability.
  7. Obtain cost and commercial approvals from the HOD, CFO, and other approving authorities in line with the delegation of authority.
  8. Issue and manage LOIs, Purchase Orders, and Agreements, ensuring contractual compliance, timelines, and proper documentation.
  9. Govern change orders, variation claims, and extra items, validating scope changes, rates, and approvals to ensure cost control across projects.
  10. Partner with Finance & Accounts teams to manage PO advances, RA bill processing, retention releases, bank guarantees, and payment milestones.
  11. Set up and institutionalize procurement processes, SOPs, and controls aligned to Lighthouse Learning's scale and expansion plans; track KPIs such as savings, cycle time, and vendor performance.
  12. Prepare and present regular MIS, dashboards, and reports for leadership, highlighting cost trends, project risks, savings achieved, and procurement performance.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 12 15 years of experience in Procurement / Contracts with strong exposure to Real Estate, Construction, and MEP projects (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in school, institutional, commercial, or retail fit-out projects preferred.
  • Hands-on expertise in MEP procurement (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV) is critical.
  • Strong understanding of BOQs, drawings, specifications, rate analysis, and tendering processes.
  • Demonstrated capability in vendor development, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across geographies in tight timelines.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with Projects, Design, Finance, and Leadership teams.
  • High proficiency in MIS, dashboards, Excel, and cost analytics.
  • Strong ownership mindset, execution focus, and comfort working in a fast-growing, high-accountability environment.
  • Immediate joiners or short notice candidates strongly preferred.
