Project Manager (Solar EPC C&I Projects)

Location: Gurugram

Role Overview

As the Project Manager for Solar EPC, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) solar projects. You will lead the project lifecyclefrom site survey and design coordination to procurement, installation, and final commissioning. Your goal is to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with international quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules, resource allocation plans, and critical milestones.
  • Ensure all on-site execution aligns strictly with approved Engineering Designs and the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Manage project documentation and reporting from groundbreaking to handover.
2. Site & Technical Management
  • Oversee comprehensive site surveys, including shadow analysis and structural integrity assessments.
  • Manage both rooftop and ground-mounted C&I installations.
  • Ensure technical compliance with AC/DC layouts and string/central inverter configurations.
3. Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Identify, onboard, and supervise sub-contractors and third-party vendors.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to contractual timelines and safety norms.
4. Procurement & Supply Chain Coordination
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to facilitate the timely delivery of modules, inverters, and Balance of System (BOS) components.
  • Inspect incoming materials for quality and specification compliance.
5. Quality, Safety (HSE) & Compliance
  • Enforce rigorous Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on-site.
  • Coordinate with government bodies and DISCOMs for permits, net-metering applications, and CEIG approvals.
  • Ensure the highest standards of workmanship in all electrical and civil works.
6. Financial & Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain strict budget control to prevent cost overruns and optimize resource utilization.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, providing transparent progress updates and resolving site-specific challenges.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical or Civil Engineering. (PMP or Prince2 certification is highly desirable).
  • Experience: 58 years in Solar EPC, with at least 3 years specifically in the C&I segment.
  • Technical Proficiency: * Expertise in Solar PV systems and AC/DC electrical distribution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and project management software (MS Project or Primavera).
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and negotiation capabilities; ability to thrive under pressure to meet commissioning deadlines.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to various project sites as required.
