About the Role
The ideal candidate is the one who has been leading a GCC* team. GCC refers to Global Capability Centers focusing on Information Technology, which are offshore units of multinational companies providing specialized IT services (like app dev, support, digital transformation) and core functions (R&D, finance, HR) from talent-rich locations like India to drive efficiency, innovation, and leverage global talent pools, moving beyond simple cost-cutting to strategic value creation. Karnataka, India, is a major hub, fostering these centers through supportive policies to boost innovation and economic growth.
Responsibilities
- Experience in SAP project execution, support projects, T&M, milestone based, Fixed bid projects.
- Customer facing profile.
- Strong customer relationship, dynamic and good in stakeholder management.

Required Skills
- Strategic & Operational Acumen: The PM must operate with a micro-CEO mindset, balancing day-to-day execution with a 35 year strategic vision for the GCC's growth. This includes strong financial management skills (P&L management, ROI modeling) to ensure the GCC provides continuous value beyond initial cost savings.
- Global/Cross-Cultural Communication: Excellent communication skills are paramount for managing stakeholders across different time zones, cultures, and hierarchical levels. This involves cultural fluency, the ability to influence without formal authority, and patience to navigate slow decision-making processes common in global organizations.
- Change Management Expertise: Establishing and running a GCC involves significant organizational, process, and cultural changes. The PM should be skilled in driving change, managing expectations, and ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities from the parent organization to the GCC.
- Talent Management & Leadership: Attracting, retaining, and developing specialized talent in a competitive market (like India) is a primary function. The PM needs strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build a positive and inclusive culture that fosters ownership and innovation.
- Innovation Mindset & Technical Fluency: Modern GCCs are innovation hubs, so the PM should be tech-savvy and understand emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and cloud architecture. They need to foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, moving beyond simply following instructions to actively questioning and refining processes.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: The ability to work with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and adapt quickly to changing market conditions and business needs is vital for success in a dynamic GCC environment.
