Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Project Manager – Millwork Operations to lead and manage large-scale architectural millwork drafting projects for clients across the United States and Canada. This role demands exceptional leadership, deep technical expertise in millwork standards, and proven experience managing large teams within an outsourcing environment.
The ideal candidate will oversee a team of 30–40 drafters along with Team Leaders, ensuring high-quality deliverables, adherence to international standards, and operational excellence across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 30–40 drafters along with Team Leaders to ensure high performance, accountability, and productivity.
- Oversee end-to-end execution of millwork drafting projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client expectations.
- Review and approve custom millwork shop drawings, ensuring precision, constructability, and compliance with client specifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to North American standards such as AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute), AWMAC (Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada), AWS (Architectural Woodwork Standards), WDMA, and NKBA guidelines.
- Prepare and validate project estimations, including material take-offs, costing, and timelines, to support client proposals and decision-making.
- Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources efficiently, and track progress against defined milestones.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality and accuracy in shop drawings, production drawings, and detailing outputs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, expectation management, and long-term relationship building.
- Conduct regular quality audits, team reviews, and performance evaluations.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 9+ years of experience in architectural millwork, including strong exposure to project management.
- Proven experience managing large teams (30–40 members) in a structured and fast-paced environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise in AutoCAD, with advanced knowledge of millwork detailing and drafting practices.
- Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing custom shop drawings for millwork projects.
- Proven experience in project estimation, including quantity take-offs, costing, and proposal support.
- In-depth knowledge of US & Canada millwork and architectural standards (AWI, AWMAC, AWS, WDMA, NKBA).
- Prior experience working in an outsourcing/offshore delivery model is mandatory.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
