Job Description

An IT project manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing information technology projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. Key duties include developing project plans, managing resources and budgets, mitigating risks, and communicating with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors. The role acts as a bridge between IT and business objectives, leading projects from initiation to completion. 

Core responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables; develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. 
  • Execution and Monitoring: Guide the project team, manage tasks, and track progress to ensure completion according to plan. 
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage project finances, monitor expenses, and ensure resources are allocated effectively. 
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and handle unexpected issues as they arise. 
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, translating technical information and providing regular status updates. 
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations through testing and validation.
