Hughes Precision was incorporated in 2016 for the manufacture of Defence Equipment. It has the world s fastest and most accurate ammunition inspection system available. It is a high-speed comprehensive inspection system that detects all critical defects according to MIL-STD-636 for small caliber, and MIL-STD-651 for medium caliber ammunition and components. We have setup a highly advanced facility for small Caliber Ammunition in Verna Industrial Estate, Goa. The facility has an in-house test facility and range.

Role Purpose

Lead the planning and execution of the medium-caliber manufacturing project from engineering and procurement through installation, commissioning and operational readiness, ensuring delivery against approved scope, schedule, cost and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the master project plan, milestones, critical path, dependencies and execution priorities.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, Procurement, Finance and external partners.
  • Drive equipment selection, technical evaluation, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Manage CAPEX, vendor commitments, project costs, schedules and change control.
  • Track project risks, issues and delays; establish mitigation plans and escalate critical matters promptly.
  • Lead project reviews and provide concise management dashboards covering progress, cost, risks and milestones.
  • Coordinate factory/site acceptance, commissioning, qualification, documentation and operational-readiness activities.
  • Ensure project execution meets applicable statutory, regulatory, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
  • Facilitate smooth transition from project execution to stable manufacturing operations.

Ideal Candidate

  • 12 15 years of overall experience, with 6 8+ years leading manufacturing, CAPEX, plant or production-line projects.
  • Proven experience in greenfield/brownfield projects involving machinery, infrastructure, installation and commissioning.
  • Relevant industry exposure in Defence, Aerospace, Precision Engineering, Automotive/Auto Components, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Machinery or Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Strong capability in project planning, cost control, vendor management, risk management and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers, contractors and technical teams in time-critical projects.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and execution skills with high ownership.

Preferred

  • PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project-management certification.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, APQP, NPI or structured industrial project-management methodologies.
  • Experience with technology transfer, new production-line setup or manufacturing capacity expansion.

Success Measures

On-time project milestones, disciplined CAPEX control, successful equipment commissioning, completion of qualification/readiness activities, and a controlled transition to production.
