Your impact

As a Lead Engineer – Water, you will be responsible for hydraulic engineering, master planning, and technical delivery for water supply projects in medium to large cities. You will carry out hydraulic analysis, develop long-term water supply strategies, evaluate system capacities, and support multi-disciplinary planning and design activities. You will be expected to integrate seamlessly with a multi‑cultural, high-performing team and meet project expectations on quality, deadlines, and design excellence.

Key duties include

  • Perform hydraulic modelling and analysis for water distribution systems using WaterGEMS
  • Evaluate system capacity, identify constraints, develop planning scenarios, and support optioneering and multi‑criteria analysis for water supply strategies.
  • Conduct SWOT analysis of preferred options and compile findings into structured technical reports.
  • Lead or support master planning of water infrastructure for medium to large cities.
  • Develop pressure zoning schemes including PMA / DMA / DMZ development.
  • Plan and design water supply schemes, including pipeline sizing, routing, and hydraulic controls.
  • Undertake pipeline routing, utility corridor planning, and clash checking using Navisworks, ensuring clash-free detailed design.
  • Conduct analysis using ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro for spatial data assessment and mapping.
  • Support preparation of cost estimates, capital investment plans, and implementation plans.
  • Conduct options evaluation, constraint analysis, and conceptual planning.
  • Provide guidance and inputs to designers/draftsmen; review/check drawings for technical accuracy.
  • Review and check design calculations prepared by junior engineers or peers.
  • Prepare technical presentations, reports, and documentation for client approval.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines (structural, electrical, mechanical, environment) and external stakeholders, including clients, PMCs, vendors, and third‑party reviewers.
  • Ensure adherence to technical specifications, project requirements, and best engineering practices.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to maintaining a strong delivery culture.
  • Bridge data gaps through engineering judgment, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Work Expectation The role is based out of client office in Delhi.

Here's what you'll need

Experience

10 to 12 years of experience in water supply projects.

At least 8 years of hands‑on water network master planning and hydraulic modelling experience using WaterGEMS. Demonstrated experience in

  • Water supply master planning
  • Pressure zoning and network optimization
  • Hydraulic design of water distribution systems
  • Utility corridor planning and pipeline routing
  • Clash analysis and clash resolution

Experience with SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, Civil3D is an added advantage.

Capable of preparing design deliverables across project stages including feasibility, concept, detailed design, and implementation planning.

Experience working with large, multi-cultural engineering teams.

Demonstrated ability to bridge data gaps and develop engineering assumptions where required.

Demonstrated interest in digital delivery and innovation, including automation, data‑driven workflows, and continuous improvement.

Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in client presentations, tender submissions, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related discipline)

Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Engineering (or relevant field)
