Project Manager - Heat Pump & Heat Recovery Systems

About Promethean Energy

Promethean Energy designs, manufactures and commissions industrial heat pumps and heat recovery systems for process heating, hot water generation, drying and waste heat recovery. Our systems range from 25 kW to 700 kW and above and run at automotive plants, bio-CNG (CBG) plants, food and beverage units, pharma and textile facilities across India. Every project is engineered to order and delivered end to end: design, procurement, manufacturing, dispatch, site erection and commissioning.

About the role

Project volumes are growing and we are setting up a dedicated project management function. You will be our first Project Manager and the single point of ownership for every project schedule, from customer PO to commissioning and handover. You will work day to day with sales, design engineering, purchase, stores, the service team and the customer's project team, and report to the Head - Operations.

What you will do

• Take over each project from sales at order receipt. Run the kickoff with sales and the design engineer, go through the handover document, scope, technical specifications, customer commitments and PO terms, and log open points for closure.
• Build the project schedule with dated, owned milestones: design freeze, customer drawing approval, long lead item ordering, material readiness, FAT, dispatch, site erection and commissioning. Track actual against plan and keep forecast dates current.
• Get GA drawings, P&IDs and datasheets released by design engineering on time, and follow up with the customer for approvals and closure of comments.
• Identify long lead items (compressors, heat exchangers, refrigerants, controls) at kickoff and work with purchase so orders are placed to schedule, with realistic required-by dates on every material requisition.
• Be the customer's single point of contact for everything schedule related. Track site readiness (foundation, power, water and piping connections), site access and statutory approvals, and keep a dated record of customer-side dependencies.
• Monitor manufacturing and FAT progress, plan dispatch against customer site readiness, and make sure dispatch documentation and payment milestone triggers (advance, before dispatch, on commissioning) are met.
• Coordinate site erection and commissioning with the service team, obtain commissioning reports and customer sign-off, and formally close the project.
• Run the weekly project review with management. Present slippages, risks and delay reasons with data, and escalate internally in time.
• Keep every project's schedule, milestones, approvals, correspondence and site reports current in the company ERP and CRM, and keep the team aligned on each PO's delivery dates, LD clauses, warranty and payment milestones.

Who we are looking for

• 6 to 10 years in project execution, commissioning or service of industrial equipment such as heat pumps, chillers, industrial refrigeration, boilers, thermic fluid heaters or process utilities. A commissioning or service background with complete site handovers to customers is preferred.
• Hands-on experience of site erection, commissioning and customer handover of capital equipment, including handling customer expectations and delay related discussions.
• Comfortable reading GA drawings, P&IDs and technical datasheets.
• Understands customer PO terms (delivery schedules, LD clauses, payment milestones) and their impact on execution.
• Strong follow-up and documentation discipline: schedules, records and MOMs in ERP / CRM tools and MS Excel.
• Clear communicator with customer project teams, plant heads and internal departments.
• Willing to travel to customer sites across India, roughly 30 to 40% of the time.
• Based in or around Navi Mumbai, or willing to relocate.
• Good command of English and Hindi. A South Indian language is an added advantage.
• B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical) preferred. Diploma holders with strong commissioning and site experience are welcome to apply.

Good to have

• Basic knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressor types (screw, reciprocating, scroll), refrigerants and low ambient operation.
• Prior projects in CBG, food processing, automotive or pharma plants.
• Exposure to ERP based material flow (material requisition, PO, GRN, material issue).
• PMP / Prince2 certification.
