Role Title: Project Manager Hardware Design
Role Purpose: Project management of the Electronic Control Unit application projects
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate execution of complex internally developed electronics core and customer application projects compliant to ASPICE processes (MAN.3, ACQ.4)
- Act as Single Point of Contact for the (internal or external) customer for electrical hardware engineering development projects
- Develop and manage project timelines, and ensure project is executed according to agreed milestones
- Create detailed tasks for team members to execute project work products, and be accountable for their delivery
- Identify technical, timing, and cost risk for electronics development projects. Develop risk mitigation plans and roll out the action plan to the team
- Identify and produce project metrics, concisely demonstrating progress
- Collect, implement, and track product cost down initiative in development and after production
- Work directly with Procurement, Supplier Quality, Suppliers, and other engineering functions to coordinate sample builds
- Coordinate sample releases, ensuring engineering work products are meeting the appropriate completeness and quality against the release level
- Actively communicate with EHW Team Leaders regarding resource assignments to projects, and support prioritization resolution
- Escalate project resource issues within the EHW department
- Encourage a project culture that values IP generation and drive team toward delivery
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to increase project execution efficiency.
Formal qualifications required:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's Degree preferred)
- Ability to support at customer site as needed
- Ability to travel 5%-10% of time ay external labs and other facilities globally
Previous experience required:
- 5-10 years of experience in electronics hardware design and layout for automotive applications, preferably in powertrain or chassis.
- Understanding of automotive and functional safety development processes
- Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills
- Independent worker who takes the initiative
