About Girl Rising
Girl Rising is a global nonprofit that works to ensure girls everywhere are educated, respected and heard.
Together with local partners across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, we equip girls with the skills, support, and opportunities to lead change and shape their own futures. And we engage everyone around them - boys, educators, families, and locally-led organisations - to expand opportunity and dismantle the barriers that stand in the way of girls choosing their own futures. In 2025, Girl Rising merged with She's the First, bringing together two powerful organisations united by a shared commitment to girls education, rights and leadership globally.
This year our work will reach over 100,000 youth with in-depth programming and more than 5 million with digital resources. Our three program pillars - In Schools, In Communities, and Directly With Girls - all create safe spaces and opportunities for girls through creative learning resources, skill-building, mentorship, and communities of support.
The Opportunity
This year, we are launching an exciting new global initiative and are seeking an exceptional Project Manager to lead its implementation. In addition to this flagship initiative, the role will support other strategic Girl Rising projects as needed.
This role sits at the intersection of play-based youth engagement, girls empowerment, grassroots engagement, and corporate partnership: the kind of work that requires someone who can hold complexity, interact with a range of stakeholders, propel a project forward, and meticulously manage all the details.
This role is based in India, with a preference for Delhi or Mumbai.
The Projects
Play. Rise. Thrive. Play. Rise. Thrive. is a two-year initiative to create, pilot, and distribute an updated edition of Girl Rising's What Would You Do Game — a powerful, playful resource that teaches girls about their rights, healthy relationships, and speaking up for themselves. The project is rooted in a core commitment to creating impact through play and in our shared belief that girls are leaders, builders, and role models.
Additional Program Management
Beyond Play. Rise. Thrive., this role will assist in the management and coordination of other Girl Rising programs. This may include, but not be limited to, supporting in-person and virtual events/trainings for the Girls First Institute and RISE programming, coordinating cross-region and cross-team projects, and providing support to partners in the South Asia region.
Role Overview
This is not a back-office role. You will be a visible leader within the main project: running partner meetings, managing funder relationships and reporting, anticipating challenges before they become problems, and keeping the team aligned and moving. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in a co-creation session with teenage girls, a progress call with a corporate partner, or working solo on detailed project tracking.
