Lead allocated EPMO projects — Tier 1 (Explore), Tier 2 (Build) or Tier 3 (Transform) — based on experience and demonstrated capability. This includes development and execution of scope, schedule, budget, resource, risk, change, communications and stakeholder management plans, applied proportionate to project tier and complexity.
Apply consistent project management principles across all allocated projects, working within the EPMO's flexible delivery framework and adhering to its intake, scoring, governance, reporting and closeout standards.
For Tier 2 initiatives, partner with the nominated business sponsor to develop and refine concise business cases, ensuring scope, rationale, cost, effort and expected return on investment are clearly articulated and aligned with EPMO scoring criteria.
For Tier 3 initiatives, deliver under the strategic oversight of the EPMO Director, ensuring full governance is observed and that the named ELT sponsor is appropriately engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to the EPMO's benefits realisation framework — capturing baseline measures at planning, tracking realised benefits through delivery, and providing inputs to the EPMO's ROI and outcomes reporting back to ELT.
Maintain accurate, current project records in the EPMO portfolio dashboard, including status, resourcing, risks, issues, dependencies, scope changes and benefits-tracking data.
Facilitate the requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, training and change management activities required for successful project delivery, working collaboratively with subject matter experts and vendors.
Identify and escalate emerging risks, scope changes or threshold breaches (effort, cost, dependency) that may trigger tier escalation, in line with the EPMO operating model.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Technology and Innovation, Quality and Compliance, Finance, Clinical Operations and Senior Management to negotiate resource commitments and ensure on-time delivery of projects.
Manage external vendors associated with project deliverables, ensuring scope, schedule and contractual obligations are met.
Provide regular project status updates and portfolio inputs to the EPMO Director, and contribute to monthly ELT portfolio reporting packs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Ordinary degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and appropriate industry experience.
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Computer Science or other relevant discipline, and/or recognised project management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum). Higher tier projects will typically require more advanced qualifications and demonstrated delivery track record.
Demonstrated project management experience scaled to the tier of project to be managed:
Tier 2 (Build): a minimum of 3 years managing cross-functional internal projects with named sponsors and defined business cases.
Tier 3 (Transform): a minimum of 5 years managing strategic, multi-stream or transformation projects with executive-level reporting and accountability for benefits delivery.
Experience contributing to benefits realisation, ROI measurement or outcomes reporting frameworks is highly desirable.
Experience managing technology, systems integration, ERP, CRM or business process transformation projects will be highly regarded given Avance's current strategic roadmap.
Strong working knowledge of established project management methodologies (waterfall, agile and hybrid) and the judgment to apply them proportionate to project size and complexity.
