Job Title: Project Manager & Domain Expert – Functional Testing (Insurance Domain)

Work Mode: Remote

Experience : 10+ Years (with strong Insurance Domain and QA/Testing experience)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager & Domain Expert with deep expertise in Functional Testing within the Insurance sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of insurance business processes, testing methodologies, stakeholder management, and project delivery. This role requires a blend of domain consulting, quality assurance leadership, and project management capabilities to ensure successful delivery of high-quality insurance technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for insurance application testing initiatives.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, resource allocation, risks, and stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinate with business users, developers, BA teams, and QA teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Track project progress and provide regular status reports to leadership and clients.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, testing governance, and delivery processes.

Functional Testing & QA Leadership

  • Define test strategy, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements.
  • Lead functional, integration, regression, SIT, and UAT testing activities.
  • Review and validate business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Identify gaps in requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Drive defect management lifecycle and coordinate defect triage meetings.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Insurance Domain Expertise

  • Provide domain expertise across Insurance lines such as:
  • Life Insurance
  • Health Insurance
  • Property & Casualty (P&C)
  • Claims Management
  • Policy Administration
  • Underwriting
  • Billing & Payments
  • Reinsurance
  • Analyze insurance workflows and business processes to ensure accurate system validation.
  • Support business teams during requirement gathering, UAT, and production validation.
  • Recommend process improvements and testing best practices specific to insurance platforms.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Mentor QA analysts and junior testers on insurance domain knowledge and testing practices.
  • Conduct client discussions, requirement walkthroughs, and testing sign-offs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong expertise in Functional Testing methodologies and QA processes.
  • Hands-on experience in:
  • Test Planning
  • Test Execution
  • Defect Tracking
  • Requirement Analysis
  • UAT Coordination
  • Regression Testing
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as:
  • JIRA
  • HP ALM / QC
  • Azure DevOps
  • TestRail
  • Understanding of SDLC and STLC models.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.

Insurance Domain Expertise

  • Strong understanding of Insurance business processes and workflows.
  • Experience working on insurance core platforms and enterprise applications.
  • Ability to interpret policy documents, claims workflows, underwriting rules, and compliance requirements.

Project Management Skills

  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience in risk management and delivery governance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • PMP / PRINCE2 / Scrum certifications preferred.
  • ISTQB certification is an added advantage.
  • Insurance certifications (LOMA, III, CPCU, etc.) preferred.
